Bus

Express bus No. 500 operates to/from the entrance to the airport terminal. It departs every 30 minutes for Liverpool city centre, calling at Chapel Street, Norton Street (for National Express connections), Lime Street (for rail connections), Queen Square Bus Station and Paradise Street Bus Station before making its way back to the Airport. The service operates between the hours of 0515 and 0015 and leaves the airport at quarter past and quarter to the hour.
Additional bus services operate between the airport and the surrounding trains stations as well as Liverpool:
Airlink Service 80A/180: Airport-Garston Station - Princes Road-Liverpool City Centre.
Airlink Service 81A: Airport-Hunts Cross Station - Bootle
Airlink Service 82A/82b: Halton-Runcorn Station-Widnes-Hale Village-Airport-Aigburth Vale-Liverpool City

Train

Hunts Cross is the nearest and recommended station on the local /regional rail network. Garston and Runcorn also have links to the airport.
Hunts Cross Station: accessible with Airlink bus service No. 81A. The service operates every 30 minutes. Hunts Cross is on the Merseyrail Northern Line, serving regular trains to/from Southport, Liverpool and local stations. Hunts Cross also serves trains to/from Warrington and Manchester.
Garston Station: accessible with Airlink bus service No. 80A. It operates every fifteen minutes to a bus stop near the station. The Smart 886 service operates to the airport, from directly outside the station. Garston station is also on the Merseyrail Northern Line with links to/from Southport, Liverpool and local stations.
Runcorn Station: accessible with Airlink Bus Service No. 82A/82B. The service runs every 30 minutes. Runcorn Station is on the West Coast main line servicing trains to/from Crewe, Birmingham, London and other main stations.

Taxi

A taxi rank is located directly outside the entrance to the airport terminal. The journey into Liverpool city centre is 7 miles and takes approximately 20 minutes.

By car

Travelling from the North/North-East: M6 southbound to junction 21A with M62. Follow M62 West to junction 6 onto the A5300 to the A561 and follow signs to the Airport, which is situated off Speke Hall Avenue.
Travelling from the South/East : M6 northbound to junction 20 with M56. Follow M56 to junction 12 onto A557/A562 dual carriageway via Runcorn Bridge to merge with A561. Follow signs to the Airport, situated off Speke Hall Avenue.
Travelling from the Wirral/North Wales: Passengers travelling from Wirral may find it more convenient at peak times to use the M53 and then the M56 (as instructions from the South / East) rather than a route through the City Centre of Liverpool via the Mersey Tunnels. Passengers travelling from North Wales should join the A55 to connect with the M56 eastbound, and then follow instructions as from the East.

Parking

Liverpool John Lennon Airport boasts a large spacious onsite car park, which is conveniently located adjacent to the terminal building. There is a specially designated area for disabled drivers that is closest to the terminal building. The car park has high fencing, lighting and security guards patrolling the car park 24 hours per day. A pick-up and set-down point is also available in the short-stay car park.
