By car

The airport is situated only 8 km north of the Bucharest city center and linked to it by a motorway which continues northwards to Ploiesti and onwards to the Prahova valley. Journey time is approx. 20 minutes.

Parking is available at the airport.

Local transportation

Bus 783 shuttles between the airport and the city centre (Piaţa Unirii) once every 15 minutes between 0530 and 2340 Monday to Friday and once every 30 minutes at the weekend and on public holidays. Ticket costs 5.00 RON for return trip (no single fares).

Taxi

Taxis can be hired from in front of the airport building. The journey into the city takes around 10 minutes. You are advised to agree on a price before embarking. A 10% tip is customary.
